The thermostat in an engine controls coolant flow and regulates engine temperature. It must prevent coolant from flowing to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. High-temperature readings and overheated engines; low-temperature readings and underheated engines; temperature fluctuating unpredictably; coolant leaks around the thermostat housing or under the engine are all signs of a damaged or failing thermostat. NOTE: In a vertical installation, if the thermostat has a jiggle pin, check valve, or other devices to assist in bleeding air from the system, the jiggle pin should be situated at north or noon. Key Features: - A professional, high-quality OE style replacement thermostat exceeds all original equipment performance.
- It separates the engine from the radiator until a particular minimum temperature.
- It's built inside the engine block and controls the flow of the coolant to the radiator.
- Stainless steel mounting flange is designed to fit and seat the thermostat properly in the outlet casting, resulting in improved performance.
- The Spring frame is stainless steel with channel construction for added strength and durability.
