The BoatGuard mooring whip system by Taylor Made Products is an economical way to protect your boat against dock damage caused by wakes. The 12-foot mooring whip, product number TAY99080, is ideal for boats up to 5,000 pounds. This mooring whip is on sale at a great price at Boatersland Discount Marine Supply. These BoatGuard mooring whips are sold in pairs and include all lines and hardware. Tools necessary for installing this mooring whip include: two 9/16 inch and one ½ inch socket; open or crescent wrenches; a drill with 3/8-inch bit; a small knife; and a Phillips head screwdriver. Taylor Made uses large ¾-inch in diameter solid fiberglass poles that can withstand rugged environments. These poles provide spring action to keep your boat safely away from the dock. In addition to the 5,000 pound maximum, these 12-foot mooring whips are specifically designed for boats up to 25-feet in length. When determining the best whip model for your needs, weight is more important than length. Also, some docking conditions may be too rugged for this product.
